Who Do You Want to Be?
"Fight to be the person philosophy tried to make you." - Marcus Aurelius
Here's who you want to be:
To be cheerful, humble, truthful, brave, clean, reverent, equanimous, moderate, considerate, thoughtful, present, curious.
Not to lash out, envy, or lust. Not to be greedy, ambitious, deceitful, and petty.
To do what's right. To stand by your convictions. To judge according to reality, and not delude yourself or give praise where it isn't deserved. To be social and friendly, taking time to enjoy life. To never mourn the loss of anything.
To be helpful to others. To be generous.
To see fear and hope for the traitors they are.
To overcome ego.
To continuously find and make small adjustments and compound gains.
“Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be, be one.” - Marcus Aurelius
